MEET OUR INTERN THERAPIST
Shelby Szalawiga
For as long as I can remember, I have been drawn to listening and helping others navigate life’s challenges. I embraced this calling as both a teacher and coach for ten years, creating spaces where students, athletes, and colleagues felt safe confiding in me. While I found deep fulfillment in education, I recognized a desire to support others in a more profound way – which led me to pursue my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
As I approach graduation and licensure as an LMHP, I am eager to bring my empathetic and compassionate approach to counseling. My curiosity about people and therapeutic modalities drives me to continually learn and grow as a practitioner. I believe my creativity and open-heartedness will enable me to connect with clients authentically and support them on a deeper level.
My primary goal is to provide a safe, comfortable environment where clients feel empowered to share their thoughts and feelings openly. I am committed to building strong therapeutic relationships and foster genuine healing and mental well-being. While my teaching background has given me valuable experience working with adolescents, I am excited to expand my practice to include adults and families. Though I don’t specialize in one particular area yet, I look forward to broadening my skills and integrating diverse therapeutic approaches to meet each client’s unique needs.
