MEET OUR COUNSELOR
Sarah Christoffersen, LIMHP, LCSW
Sarah earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She is a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner and a Clinical Social Worker. Her areas of interest and expertise include, anxiety, stress, difficulty adjusting to life changes, self-esteem, women’s issues, and peer and family issues.
Sarah specializes in working with teens and young adults. Her previous experience includes working in the school system as well as in a hospital setting. In addition to her practice, she is part- time faculty in the Social Work department at Creighton University. Sarah uses a strengths-based and client centered approach. Her goal is to create a safe space for individuals to learn about themselves, cope with stress, and explore opportunities for change. She uses a variety of therapeutic interventions including, cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, solution- focused therapy, and supportive therapy. She believes in the power of a positive therapeutic relationship and the potential it creates for significant life change.
