MEET OUR INTERN THERAPIST

Karly Johnson

Karly is a current therapist intern, passionate about working with children experiencing school behaviors, ADHD symptoms, emotional outbursts, and anxiety. Her experience as an elementary school counselor over the past four years has provided her with valuable insights into the school environment and the unique challenges children face. In addition to her work with children, Karly has a strong interest in supporting women struggling with chronic illnesses such as PCOS or endometriosis. Through her personal experiences, she understands how isolating these conditions can be, and the importance of talking to someone who truly understands the emotional toll.

Karly uses a variety of interventions, including mindfulness, person-centered therapy, psychoeducation, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to support her clients effectively. Her primary goal is to equip her clients with the skills they need to feel confident and empowered in facing life’s challenges.

Karly earned her bachelor’s degree in Human Services: Child & Family Studies at Northwest Missouri State in 2019 and completed her master’s degree in Preventative Mental Health & School Counseling at Creighton University in 2021. She is now taking additional classes at the University of Nebraska Omaha to earn her clinical mental health license.
